Feeding Instructions
- This is a nutritionally balanced meal designed to fatten and finish off cattle in pens over a 70 to 90 day period. Feeding rate will depend on many factors such as liveweight and age of the animal but, for budgeting purposes, farmers should work with daily rate of 3% of average liveweight.
- For example, if the animal(s) weigh an average 300 kg, the feed allocation should be about 3% of 300 = 9kg per animal per day.
- Beef Feedlot Meal is also a multi-purpose feed, which can be used for other purposes such as maintenance of mature cattle or for drought relief purposes in which case the feeding levels will be reduced depending on availability of other feed resources at the farm.
