Inovet, a subsidiary of Capital Foods, has opened a new outlet in Harare city centre in order to serve the needs of livestock farmers who would like to mix their own feeds on farm. The shop is located within the Farm and City premises on the corner of 4th Street and Kenneth Kaunda Avenue. (Contact +263 4 251162-8 or 253700-6).
The Inovet shop sells premix packs for the following poultry and livestock:
- Broilers
- Layers
- Free Range Chickens/Road Runners
- Pigs
- Sheep
- Horses
- Dairy cattle
- Beef cattle
On purchasing the packs, customers will receive a recipe on what to add at home in order to obtain a nutritionally balanced final feed. Most of the premixes require the farmer to just add soya meal and maize at prescribed levels at home. The biggest premix packs produce 1 tonne of feed. For the convenience of smallholder farmers, Inovet provides ‘quarter packs’ which enable the farmer to mix 250kg of nutritionally balanced feed at home.
In addition, the shop sells animal feed ingredients and additives. Ingredients and additives available for sale include soya meal, sunflower cake, wheat bran, maize bran, limestone flour, limestone grit, molasses, egg yolk colourants, growth promoters and many more.
Farmers based out of Harare can place orders for the premixes through Capital Foods branches that are dotted around the country. Capital Foods branches where the premixes can be ordered through are found in Borrowdale, Southerton, Juru, Goromonzi, Ngezi, Chegutu, Kwekwe, Gweru, Zvishavane, Bulawayo and Chivhu.
Customers should visit the Inovet and Capital Foods branches with the comfort that they will receive comprehensive technical advice on the correct use and benefits of using our products.
